Happy Birthday Tara!

On this, the 25th of October, I would like to wish Tara MacLean a HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Below is a small sample of e-mail that I've recieved over the past few months. Just a peek into the effect that Tara's music has on all of us. THANKS TARA!
I first heard the name Tara MacLean through a friend at Nettwerk records. I didn't think too much of it at the time, until he sent me a copy of "Silence". From the moment I put it in my CD player, I was hooked on her music. The lyrics are so powerful, and so relevant to so many people. When we saw Tara live in concert for the first time, I was blown away...her power transcends all boundaries. I've had the great opportunity of meeting her on several occasions here in the Windsor, Ontario/Detroit, Michigan area, and she is just as amazing in person as she is in song.

I too have become hooked on Ms. Maclean and her music. I first saw her when she opened for Paula Cole at the Park West in Chicago last april and was completly blown away. In fact I picked up a copy of her CD that night which she graciously signed for me.
-Jim

I just found about Tara yesterday and fell in love with her music......
-Mike

The first time I saw Tara Maclean was opening for Tom Cochrane in Toronto, I didnt really care to get there for her because I didnt know who she was but she put on a great show and I went out and bought her CD as soon as I could.
-Reg

I went to Lilith Fair on Tuesday and saw Tara MacLean perform -- she was amazing. :-)  Then, I got home and listened to the free tape they gave away, and when I heard "Evidence", I knew I had the exact song I needed for a story I was writing.
-Jamie

Tara is awesome, ive got her CD and met her at lilith .... she is really cool.
-Scott

We think she is wonderful.  We live in the Detroit area, and first saw her open for Paula Cole in Pontiac, MI..... we bought her CD the next day!
-Kara & Tina

I first heard of her when I got the _Slowbrew_ Nettwerk compilation a couple of years ago.  I thought that "Let Her Feel The Rain" was a great song, but she didn't have an album yet.
-Justin

When I got to Lillith Fair I went to the listening booth and randomly picked an artist from the selections.  Evidence was the track playing on her CD and I really enjoyed it so I made a mental note not to miss her performance. Her voice was so incredible I bought the CD right then & there.

So, I stopped and watched the video (Evidence) to see just who in the heck was singing it ...  Found the name, and about 3 weeks later found the CD so I bought it on the strength of the one or two times I heard the song on Much Music.......... and was very impressed with it!!!
-Steve

I just sumbled across Tara while looking aorund the lilith site. I immedieatly was blown away by how wonderful of a talent she is.
-Carrie

I agree with all that Tara is fantastic and also very genuine and sweet.  I first met her last October, when she came here (Windsor, Ontario).  She was alone then (minus Bill) but still soooo good.

The nicest thing about Tara for me is that, my best friend - that she had met- died in a car accident two weeks ago and even though she is so busy she called me from Clevland to see how I was doing.  I am beyond touched as you can imagine.
-Nancy

I just got her CD and I absolutely love her music! I think she'll soon be a big star.
-Steve

I must say I'm very impressed with your web site dedicated to Tara MacLean, an artist that I feel deserves to be in the same spotlight as Sarah and Jewel (I'm a big Jewel fan also). I believe it will only be a matter of time before people start waking up to the ethereal sounds of Tara's music.
-Steven

I just bought the tara maclean CD not knowing what I was in for. this was amazing and I fell in love with her music after the first song.
-Mandy

I just want to say keep up the good work on the page. I bought Tara's CD in February for no apparent reason except for the fact that is was $10. Now it's one of my favorite CD's.

And finally, two letters that I thought that I had to post more than just a blurb from. You're the best Tara!

I was at Lilith Fair in St Louis, and it was so hot i thought i would melt.  Just to my right, i saw someone heading up to the second stage.  I was miserable and wishing we would have come later, for the main acts (Fiona, Paula, and, of course, Sarah),  when I heard this incredible voice. It was Tara! She sang songs that perfectly fit my moods, my emotions.  Where only moments before i had been sweating and suffocating in the opressive heat, i now had chills!!!  After she and Bill finished their set (entirely too short!), she announced that she'd be siging CDs in the Borders tent.  I knew I had to have it, but i also knew i had absolutely no money!  My boyfriend and one of my best friends immediately rushed over to buy my a copy of "Silence"  (Thanks Dom and Cindy!)  The rest of the day, i didn't mind the heat, or my lack of cash.  I found my voice through Tara's music...

Hi, my name is also Tara and I just wanted to say that your site on Tara Maclean is wonderful. I am from Victoria and have known Tara for a number of years. I was part of a wonderful group of friends, including Tara, through high school. We all knew she would attain insurmountable success because of talent but most of all because of her love just to sing. My favorite memorys of Tara are when I used to get her to sing me to sleep on our 'girls nights out', having her sing to me and all of our friends on the stage at our high school during our lunch hour break and singing at my mothers wedding. She is a wonderful person and it is very sweet to see what you have done!
